在最新一期的《親子天下》雜誌中，周美青以「重拾書法教育」一文呼籲台灣重視書法藝術。她指出，近年來日本、韓國，甚至一些歐美國家都在研習書法藝術，唯獨我們自己對於老祖宗的文化遺產未予以適當的重視，..當大家都到大陸學書法時.簡體字便變成主流.正體字的發展便更狹隘.所以台灣當局要致力於書法教育的國際推廣.也許再過幾年，書法就像端午龍舟一樣，變成韓國所宣稱的文化產物，與其屆時亡羊補牢，禮失而求諸野，不如即早未雨綢繆。
